The Flying Dutchman is a former Olympic Class, and is an excellent choice for sailors looking to sail a proven, exhilirating boat, with a fantastic history, that is still racing with big fleets regularly throughout the World.
The FD is a two handed monohull that remains one of the fastest, most enjoyable dinghies to sail and, as it is no longer an Olympic Class, the costs of buying and owning a Flying Dutchman are now significantly reduced, making it a truly affordable performance sailing dinghy. Have a look at the recently updated "For Sale" page to see which FD's are currently available to get you into the class and get sailing.
Check out the videos at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gthSUeDQFg to get an idea of how great the Flying Dutchman is....you don't know how good sailing upwind can actually be.
If you want to find out what the Australian Flying Dutchman class is up to have a look at the News items or sign up and have a chat with other FD sailors on the Forum, they are a remarkably friendly bunch.....more amazingly not all of them are 8 ft Neanderthals.....
