Hi all,

Napier was a blast though I would have loved to have seen some of the racing close up :-)

There was a Sydeny Flying Squadron point score race (race 6) scheduled for 24th Jan but as the container is still en-route from Napier, nobody raced (I assume). Who is planning to race in the next points score race (race 7) scheduled for 15th Feb (and then races 8 & 9 on the 14th & 15 March)?

Also, John and I were talking to Adam today and he mentioned that he'd been approached by Mathew re Woollahra Sailing Club hosting FD racing on Saturdays (probably alternating with the SFS races. He is, of course, happy to put on a start for the FDs on any and every Saturday if we're interested. What are people planning to do?

Sounds like it was a good dinner last night at the SFS - sorry that I missed it.

How did today's racing go? John and I were out yesterday (we both had prior engagements for today - sorry about that) but were the only FDs out. None-the-less, it was a blast with 15-20kt winds and a really quick blat upto the heads and back with the bigger boats. Looks like John and I have worked out how to pick up the wins ;-)

John and I will probably be sailing on Monday and Wednesday afternoon (depends a little bit on when we can get our poppers fixed) and maybe Friday morning setting off from WSC.

Hi Noel,

Racing was good today. Excellent to get out and enjoy some racing after New Zealand.

We had 2 races today in fairly light easterly breezes.

Results were (in both races)

AUS 361, Politesse

AUS 332, F@less

AUS 361, Manbearpig

AUS358, Spacestation

Thanks to the Sydney Flying Squadran for hosting the races

....a sail on Wednesday sounds good let me know and i will talk to Ed. good luck with the repair...

Cheers

Pete

The SFS FD racing calenda has now been posted with races every second week commencing 27 September.

The NSW State Championships will be at the SFS on Sun 22 and 29 November. The National Championships will be at Sorento between 6 and 10 January 2010.

Does anyone else have suggestions on what sailing people want to do?

For example, last season three of the WSC boats sailed most sundays leading up to the worlds. The training days were also popular. What do we want to do in Sydney this season? Having bought a new baot and planing to go to Crotia Pete and are are keen to sail as often as we can get out there.

Ed
