Hi every one.

As we have a few new faces to the class I thought that some of you might like a little help to get you going even faster. For the Victorians I can come do a weekend with you if you like.

Dates July 5th or July 13th in Sydney  2nd and 3rd in Victoria (if you like) cost- fuel and if I can stay with some one then I will drive down I guess.I would need a rib in Victoria.

Who: any one can come

Cost: Nil: how ever a contribution towards fuel would be nice

Video- I will be video the days sailing and using for de-briefs

Who will be there to talk about: Richard, Norman, Bruce

Aims

Provide a guide to creating a simple easy to achieve set of rig numbers.
Look at basic rig set up and offer guidance for possible improvements.
Aim to improve communication inside the boat
Create awareness of what is happening on the race track around you.
Point out areas of boat handling that are causing problems and help provide solutions.
Provide the tools to deal with what is thrown at you on the race course

Saturday, the first half will remain ashore and cover set up and tuning for each boat . Moving to each boat discussing the set up of each and hopefully providing a better understanding of what makes the rig work. Calibration will be  an essential part of this.

The second half of the Day will be on the water going through basic maneuvers (tacks, gybes and mark rounding's). Emphasis will be placed on smoothness rather than speed.

For the second half of the day the aim is to create awareness of what is going on around you. Exercises may include:

Boat handling drills
Windward sprints
Leeward sprints
Windward/ leeward races

Please tell me if you want to do this

Seems loke the 2nd of August is best.  Would be good to have a few extra boats there, not just the slow new people.  We will only know if we are improving if some of the more experiened quick boats come along and sail against us.  So would be good to see a big turnout.  Ed

Noel and I can make the second,  I was talking to Adam at Woolahra and he said the club would be able to set up a race course in the afternoon if we wanted to tune in the morning.

Tell me what you think and I will get back to him with the date.

So is it the 2nd? I have it blocked off, but my wife is eyeing some yard work unless I can get a confirmation.
